Okay so maybe it was actually the middle of the night on Christmas morning, somewhere after midnight when a sobering conversation inspired me to blog again. See, I've blogged for a large portion of my life and it's only over the past couple of years that I've gotten away from it, caused primarily by lack if internet access. So, I shall attempt again because at this current moment it seems the only thing I can do with full control of the situation.
You may be looking around and wondering why there are laundry machines for my background image. Herein exists the story of this blog's inspiration: my grandfather. My grandpa purchased a laundromat in Carbondale, Colorado when I was in elementary school. I have many memories of him there which may come out in days to come, but that's a story for another day. Tonight, I had a talk with my mom and her brother about their dad, my grandpa, whose health has taken a turn. It seems that he's acquiring Alzheimer's Disease like his brother who passed away this year. He's not the same man I've grown up with and since I live 600 miles away and see little of what truly goes on now, I've decided it's important to document both my life and my grandfather's and the stories we both love to tell.
This Christmas is an emotional one, but I'm determined to make it great and full of memories, especially because I spent ten hours driving here to surprise my family with a visit for the holiday.
